VICTIM WHOSE SKULL FOUND OFF HIGHWAY 66 NEAR LITTLE CREEK ROAD IN CLAY COUNTY, KENTUCKY IDENTIFIED

MANCHESTER, KY (February 15, 2022) - Clay County Coroner Jarrod Becknell, has officially released the identity of a victim whose skull was found last year in Clay County.

According to Coroner Becknell the skull was found last year off of Highway 66 near Little Creek Road following a flood in the Red Bird area of Clay County.

Coroner Becknell said shortly after 4:00 this afternoon that his office was waiting on notification of the next of kin before releasing the victim's name.

Clay County Coroner Jarrod Becknell has now identified the victim as Makayla Collett (pictured).

The last day friends and family saw 21-year-old Makayla Collett was October 24th, 2020.

She was last seen on Middle Fork Road in Leslie County, KY.
